Stacking - Infant Lessons

Our lesson for today was stacking - we had many staking options:

 

Our lessons aren't very long - half an hour at the most - but really they are just a game.

 

I keep the activity out for half the day and then replace it in the afternoon with a new activity.

We don't spend the entire day at home, often we will go for a walk or to mothers group. If it is a nice morning we will go outside to play also.

I am enjoying thinking of structured activities and it is helping to give some good balance to our day.

Discovering a love of Montessori Method

I know it has been a while since I have blogged, but I am trolling my way through the course to become a Breastfeeding Counsellor and it has been taking up a lot of my time these past few weeks.

I have also been struggling with the anxiety issues I have in the past few weeks and I just need to stop everything for a while!

However, just this week I purchased the 0 - 24 month Infant Documents, Articles and Lesson Activities from  Montessori of the Earth and I am just so happy with my decision to purchase this resource.

I have been slowly introducing aspects of Montessori education into our home over the past few months and my philosopy on parenting has always been to 'Follow the child". I have wanted to take it further for a little while as I hope to be enrolling the Action man in a Montessori toddler program in a few months time.

I started researching montessori homeschooling and came across this site. I have only just reciieved it today but so far it looks great. I am really looking forward to introducing the Action man to a daily activity in the montessori style.
